# RED SERIES AC LINE FREQUENCY DIVIDERS
## Features
️· Accepts 50Hz/60Hz sine wave input directly.
️· Fully static counter operation.
️· Operating Voltage: +4.5V to +15V.
️· Low power dissipation.
️· High noise immunity.
️· Includes Reset, Input Enable, and Division Select inputs.
️· Output: Low power TTL compatible at +4.5V operation.
️· Square Wave Output (except for ÷ 5).
️· Available in DIP and SOIC packages.
## Applications
️· Time base generator from 50Hz or 60Hz line frequency.
️· Examples:
- 10 pulses per second (RED 5/6).
- 1 pulse per second (RED 50/60).
- 1 pulse per 10 seconds (RED 500/600).
- 1 pulse per minute (RED 3000/3600).
## Operation
️· Counts on each negative transition of the input clock pulse when Enable is High and Reset is Low.
️· Enable Low inhibits clock pulses and holds the counter at its current state.
️· High Reset signal clears the counter.
️· Division Select input selects between Divide by 5 or 6, 50 or 60, 100 or 120, 300 or 360, 500 or 600, or 3000 or 3600.
️· RED 5 output has a low-for-two-clocks, high-for-three-clocks pulse shape.
## Electrical Characteristics (TA=25°C unless otherwise specified)
️· Supply Voltage: +18V max.
️· Input Capacitance: 5pF max.
️· Output Drive Current: 0.18mA at 4.5V, 0.45mA at 10V.
️· Clock Frequency: 600 kHz at 5V, 1200 kHz at 10V.
️· Input Rise and Fall Time: No Maximum Limit.
## Pin Assignment
️· Pins include: CL IN, CL, CL2, CL3, R, E, DS, VDD, VSS, N/C.
️· Pin functions: CLOCK INPUT, ENABLE, RESET, DIVISION SELECT, POWER.
