Temperature Data Format

Temperature data is stored in the RDCHT, CHTH, CHTL and CHOTL registers as an 8-bit, 2’s compliment word with a Least

Significant Bit (LSB) equal to 1

° C.

12.2.6

Standby Mode

Standby mode is enabled by setting the Standby Mode bit in the TMSCFG register to 1 (default). Standby mode disables

the conversion process to reduce power supply current. During standby mode, all registers retain their values and can be

accessed by software (as usual).

12.2.7

Diode Fault Detection

At the beginning of each conversion, the TMS goes through a diode fault detection sequence. If the DxP input is shorted to VDD

or floating, then the temperature reading will be +127

° C and the Open bit of the TCHCFST register is set, which activates the

ALERT and OTS outputs on completion of a conversion. If DxP is shorted to GND or DxN, the temperature reading is O

° C

and the Temperature Low Limit bit of the TCHCFST register is not set.
