Brilliance Semiconductor was founded in 1984 and went public in 1993. The company developed and marketed a wide range of ICs, including memory chips, digital signal processors, and application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The company's products were used in a variety of electronic devices, such as mobile phones, personal computers, and telecommunication equipment.

In 2000, Brilliance Semiconductor was acquired by Infineon Technologies AG, a German semiconductor manufacturer. After the acquisition, the company was integrated into Infineon's Memory Products division.
