STATUS_WORD

The STATUS_WORD command returns a two-byte summary of the channel's fault condition. The low byte of the STA-

TUS_WORD is the same as the STATUS_BYTE command.

STATUS_WORD High Byte Message Contents:

BIT

STATUS BIT NAME

MEANING

VOUT

An output voltage fault or warning has occurred.

IOUT

An output current fault or warning has occurred.

INPUT

An input voltage fault or warning has occurred.

MFR_SPECIFIC

A fault or warning specific to the LTC3882-1 has occurred.

POWER_GOOD#

The POWER_GOOD state is false if this bit is set.

FANS

Not supported (LTC3882-1 returns 0).

OTHER

Not supported (LTC3882-1 returns 0).

UNKNOWN

Not supported (LTC3882-1 returns 0).

This command has two data bytes.

STATUS_VOUT

The STATUS_VOUT command returns one byte of VOUT status information.

STATUS_VOUT Message Contents:

BIT

MEANING

VOUT overvoltage fault.

VOUT overvoltage warning.

VOUT undervoltage warning.

VOUT undervoltage fault.

VOUT_MAX warning.

TON_MAX fault.

TOFF_MAX warning.

Not supported by the LTC3882-1 (returns 0).

ALERT can be asserted if any of bits[7:1] are set. These may be cleared by writing a 1 to their bit position in STATUS_VOUT, in lieu of a CLEAR_FAULTS

command.

This command has one data byte.

STATUS_IOUT

The STATUS_IOUT command returns one byte of IOUT status information.

STATUS_IOUT Message Contents:

BIT

MEANING

IOUT overcurrent fault.

Not supported (LTC3882-1 returns 0).

IOUT overcurrent warning.

4:0

Not supported (LTC3882-1 returns 0).

ALERT can be asserted if any supported bits are set. Any supported bit may be cleared by writing a 1 to that bit position in STATUS_IOUT, in lieu of a

CLEAR_FAULTS command.

This command has one data byte.
