Format of uplink data frames

The uplink data frame format is described in Table 43. Each word consists of four ﬁelds; these are described in Table 41.

1. The external terminal adaptor may insert at any position an arbitrary number of fill words with CMD = 11111.

This ﬁeld contains the data bytes of user data block and control data block. Only words with

CMD = 00001 contain valid data ﬁelds (see Table 42).

CMD

This ﬁeld classiﬁes the 16-bit samples as described in the Table 42.

SYNC, INFO

In uplink direction, these ﬁelds are without meaning.

The data ﬁeld contains a valid data byte belonging to either a user or a control data block.

The data ﬁeld contains auxiliary control information that may be used by the terminal

adaptor for synchronization purposes; note 1.

Indicates that the data ﬁeld contains invalid data, which should be ignored.

Reserved for future expansion. Not used by the DSP.
