It can be used as high side or low side current monitor in automotive electronics. The DIO2186 sense drops across shunts independent of the supply voltage. This device supports common-mode inputs from -2 V to 40 V, making it ideal for current sensing of inductive loads in automotive applications. The DIO2186 boasts an ultra-low input bias current of only 1 nA that enables the use of larger shunt resistors, providing accurate current measurements even in the micro-amp range. Its high-precision performance includes a low offset voltage and gain error less than ±1%. The DIO2186 operates from a single 2.5 V to 6.0 V power supply. With bidirectional current sensing capability, DIO2186 offers three fixed gain options: 25 V/V, 50 V/V, 100 V/V, 200 V/V, 500 V/V. The devices are specified over ambient temperature range from -40°C to 125°C, which makes it a perfect solution for automotive applications. Simplified Schematic |
