General Description

Insystems where a master controller controls a

numberofindividualinterconnectedsubsystemssuch

asfoundinsmokedetectorsystems,watermetering

systems,solarenergysystemetc.,thecostofthe

lengthyinterconnectingcablingcanbeamajorfactor.

Bysendingdataalongthepowersupplylines,the

interconnectingcablescanbereducedtoasimple

twolinetype,thusgreatlyreducingbothcableand

installationcosts.

Withtheadditionofafewexternalcomponents,this

powerlinedatatransceiverdevicescontainallthe

internalcomponentsrequiredtoprovideuserswitha

systemforpowerlinedatatransmissionandreception.

Dataismodulatedontothepowerlinebythesimple

reductionofthepowerlinevoltageforaspecific

periodoftime.Powersupplyvoltagechangescanbe

initiatedbythemastercontrollerfordatareception

or initiated by the HT45B000x devices for data

transmission.Aninternalvoltageregulatorwithinthe

devicesensuresthataconstantvoltagepowersupply

isprovidedtotheinterconnectedsubsystemunits

whileaninternalvoltagedetectormonitorsthepower

linevoltagelevel.Aninternalcomparatorisusedto

translatethedifferentialsignalintoalogicsignalfor

theMCU.
