75 / 123 page  Data Sheet AS8218 / AS8228 Revision 3.0, 31-May-06 Page 75 of 123 Figure 18: Page write (WRITE) sequence Uploading Programs using the SCT In order to allow direct access to the EEPROM via a standard RS232 interface the AS8218 / AS8228 ICs provide a UART to SPI protocol converter. The two system control (SCT) instructions involved are called READ_P (F3h) and WRITE_P (F4h), which may be used to upload user software or user data to the EEPROM. Doing a READ_P allows the verification of the written data, respectively.
